Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3.5 stars rounded up to 4!
This book is character driven. It is about Cather who is a big Simon Snow fan and likes writing FanFiction about the 'fictional' book series. And there is this guy Levi, who loves her stories and falls in love with her. That's it. (A 'typical' YA book.)
But this book involves the whole Harry Potter world in disguise of Simon Snow which is a fictional series in this book. Why?!
SERIOUSLY?!“It’s hard for me to get my head around. It’s like hearing that Harry Potter is gay."
One of the character says that, and I guess he is so right! This book is not a 'fandom' book. Read it as a coming-of-age book and that's what it is. Rainbow Rowell is one of my favourite authors and I guess this got 4 stars from me only because I wanted it to be better, I guess. A little disappointed but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
So, overall, this book was just okay - nothing tot special but if you really wanna read it, go ahead!
Thanks to Manasa for BRing it with me! :)
